AL Lavoro Sicilia - Sicilian universities

A trilateral memorandum of understanding between AlmaLaurea Srl, the AlmaLaurea Consortium and the Coordination Committee of the Network of Placement Offices of Sicilian Universities - University of Palermo, University of Catania, University of Messina and Kore University of Enna.

The objectives

The aim of the memorandum is the creation of an ecosystem of innovative services in order to facilitate the entry of graduates into the working world through the innovation of employment services and the transfer of good practices to university staff.

With this objective in mind, the AL Lavoro Sicilia event was inaugurated in 2019 and participatory design and e-skills training initiatives have been held.

AL Lavoro Sicilia is the stage of the AL Lavoro tour dedicated to matching Sicilian graduates with local, national and multinational companies. During the event, the placement offices of Sicilian universities hold seminars on job-related topics.
The event takes place over the course of five days: the first three days dedicated to corporate presentation and orientation workshops for students and graduates, and the last two days to individual online interviews between candidates and companies.

Another project that saw the participation of the staff of the Sicilian placement offices was the participatory design activity, conducted using the service design method. The reflection focused on opportunities and critical issues arising from the COVID-19 emergency and the new services of the placement network. As a result of these discussions, a proposal emerged for the co-design of a single regional platform for the placement network of Sicilian universities.

Finally, placement office staff were involved in training on the topic of digital skills and the importance of agile and lifelong learning.
Starting with the completion of a questionnaire, the operators were able to reflect on their digital skills and learning strategies, and then delve into the implications and potential of these tools, gaining greater awareness of both their importance and the need for their correct and responsible use.
